Thanksgiving Praise Chapel 2016

Thanksgiving Praise Chapel 2016

dsc_0880At RCS, we have a tradition every year of gathering together as a school family before Thanksgiving break and praising God with all that we are thankful for. This year’s Thanksgiving Praise Chapel theme was “Give Thanks to the Lord Who Reigns.” 1 Chronicles 16:31. The students used this theme and worked together with their teachers to choose an aspect of life our Lord reigns over. They then took this aspect and gave it life by illustrating it on a class banner.

Our 5th grade students started the chapel with salutes followed by ASB President Elyse Kuebler who read scripture and opened with prayer. Our RCS band, lead by Ms. Mourey, played while the much anticipated banners where marched through the room. Our student worship team then lead our RCS family in a great time of worship.

Mrs. Anderson, our music teacher, unveiled what our Pre-Kindergarten through 5th graders have been working on the last few weeks. Elementary students stood up in their seats and became a choir taking turn singing songs. The drama team then preformed a witty skit about our role as the body of Christ. Mr. Herring led the all school offering of canned goods and coats to go to the Yakima Union Gospel Mission.

Finally, our 2016 Thanksgiving Praise Chapel was wrapped up with a slideshow of pictures from this year and shared some student insights on thankfulness.

Riverside Christian School is truly thankful for every student, family, teacher and staff member who chooses to partner with us in our mission to raise up children to be Rooted in Christ and Ready for tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving RCS family!
