About our High School

9th through 12th Grade

Riverside Christian School has been welcoming students and their families for over 35 years. God has been especially gracious in establishing and maintaining our beautiful facility on a parcel of land near the Yakima River. High academic standards in a family-like environment that is conducive to learning, coupled with a high school faculty committed to helping each student reach full potential, characterize the Riverside Christian School classroom.

Many families have chosen our school because of its moderate size, focus on Christian character training, instrumental music program, visual arts focus, strong parent support and involvement, and the high quality education provided to our students by a highly qualified staff. Riverside is committed to a strong literacy and mathematics program. In addition to weekly chapel, the high school student participates in a modified block schedule which usually includes Bible, math, science, English, social studies, and variety of electives.

Mission Statement

We believe that Riverside Christian School's responsibility must begin with a concern for a student's personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our desire to lead students to both knowledge and the experience of rich plateaus in their Christian faith.

  • By guiding them to explore and understand life's purpose
  • By challenging them to set personally held beliefs and standards based on God's Word
  • By transforming their biblically based convictions into everyday reality
  • By providing knowledge and training in Christ-like attitudes, values and principles which can be applied to any situation or circumstance

The ultimate goal is the development of students prepared, both academically and spiritually, to serve the Lord Jesus Christ through their character and leadership.

To graduate from Riverside Christian School a student who starts as a freshman must take and pass at Riverside the following core classes:

· 4 years of Bible (9,10,11,12)
· 4 years of English (9,10,11,12)
· 3.5 years of History (9,10,11,12)
· 2 years of Science including one with a lab
· 2 years of Mathematics
· 1.5 credits of elective courses

These classes represent 17 credits and 70% of the minimum required 24 credits to complete high school course work. The remaining 7 credits may be transferred in from other schools or opportunities of study.

Parent and Community Support

Riverside enjoys vigorous parent and community support. Parents and community members are actively encouraged to volunteer though a myriad of service opportunities. We are proud of our high level of parent participation and support.
